MADD Georgia will be hosting the 6th annual statewide law enforcement recognition banquet, Golden Shield Honors, on Thursday, March 25th, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30037.

The 6th Annual Golden Shield Honors is our way of saying “thank you” for all you do to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking. Nominations will be accepted through February 11, 2010 to recognize law enforcement agencies, officers, and individuals in the community who make a difference. Honorees also have the option to dedicate their award to a victim of drunk driving that has touched their lives (family, friend, co-worker, or other) under “Victim Dedication” on the application.
This year, MADD Georgia has implemented online application submission. This method will streamline the process by collecting information in one primary location allowing us to maintain a more accurate account of applications. Simply (1) go to www.maddga.org and click on the link “law enforcement recognition applications;” (2) select the appropriate award category; and (3) complete the form and click “submit”. That’s all! You will receive electronic confirmation that your application has been received and will be reviewed by the award committee.
We strongly encourage submitting applications via our online nomination system. However, we will still accept applications via mail and fax. Online and faxed applications must be received by February 11, 2010, 11:59pm. Mailed applications must be postmarked by February 11, 2010.
We will be showing a special presentation during the banquet. Please help us showcase your work by sending photos of your agency, officers, patrol cars, etc.
